Letters From Canaan
September 2000, Parris Island, S.C.
Hundreds and hundreds of miles apart,
Yet I can still picture it in my head,
As well as my heart
Things really aren't that far away
It all still sticks as if it were yesterday
All things happen for a reason
I'm here to become a Marine
As we hit the turn of the season
Things still remain to be seen
But we all knew this is Canaan's fate
to be one of the world's mean
And to create a machine
One with extraordinary power,
Muscle and awesome strength
That will devour
Any and all things that cross my road
I'm locked, cocked and ready to load

Believe it or not, today is my first anniversary of our eloped marriage...you see my life has gone through many changes in the last couple years, all changes that will affect my future, no doubt... from High School... next thing I know i'm in a strange place called Parris Island, here I was made into a Marine... Then it was off to camp Geiger, N.C....After that I was flown directly to Ft. leonardwood, Missouri...then back to camp LeJuene...during this time I would say I had more variables than constants.

As I write this I'm in the middle of the Atlantic...As I feel I have an uncanny ability to do, I'm gonna adapt and take full advantage of this situation.
